If you are an affiliate looking to quickly set up PPC campaigns, you should keep a few things in mind.
First of all, the “throw it at the wall and see what sticks” approach to keyword research no longer works as well as it used to. For example, if you sign up for any of the keyword research tools on this site, and then grab a bunch of keywords and throw them into your PPC campaign, you will most likely fail.
This is for a number of reasons. Mainly because any successful PPC campaign requires a lot of time and effort. If you just throw tons of keywords into your campaigns, you may get hit with a low quality score (on Google), which means you have to pay a lot of money just to make your keywords active.
You must be willing to dedicate the time and put in the work to make a profit. Anything less will surely result in failure. Trust me on this.
Now, once you decide that you must work hard, the next logical question still remains:
How can I do fast keyword research?
Okay, here’s how:
In this method I downloaded the keyword list from KeyCompete, then I used Adwords Editor to group and sort the keywords. Then I created several text ads and uploaded all the keywords to Google and ran the ads only on the Content Network.
Now, this method doesn’t work as well as it used to. But it still works to some extent. If you find an affiliate program for a well-branded site, you can get a high click through rate on the content network which will give you a higher quality score.
This is just one idea to help you brainstorm. Think creatively!
